From Representative Chris Taylor:

I want to share directly with the community that I have made the difficult decision to resign from my seat in the Vermont House of Representatives, effective at the end of day this Friday, March 27th.

Serving the residents of Milton and Georgia has been an incredible honor. I am deeply grateful for the trust placed in me and for the opportunity to work on issues that matter to our communities and our state. This was not a decision I made lightly, and it comes with mixed emotions.

At its core, this decision is about my desire to be more available and fully present at the local level. The important work happening in Milton has a direct and immediate impact on our community, and I believe my time will be best spent working alongside our dedicated Town staff to move local projects and initiatives forward.

My time in Montpelier has given me the opportunity to take on complex issues and engage in some of the most challenging work facing our state, which I have genuinely enjoyed. I value the problem solving, the debate, and the responsibility that comes with it. While the process is not without its challenges, and progress can at times be harder to achieve than it should be, the work itself remains meaningful. I remain grateful for the opportunity to have served and to work alongside many thoughtful and dedicated individuals, and I will continue to value those relationships moving forward.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me during my time as a Representative. I look forward to continuing to serve the Milton community in my current role as Town Manager and focusing on the work ahead.

Respectfully,

Chris
